30 Paintings in 30 Days - Day One

I really enjoyed reading Carol Marine's book, Daily Painting. It was easy to read and offered some great advice. It has motivated me to set some of my own artistic goals. First - I've started the Blog. It's a work in progress, but I'm learning. Second, I'm going to try to paint something everyday. It doesn't have to be big or complicated, just paint. I'm going to attempt 30 paintings in 30 days.

Here's the first one:

Red Creek #1, oil painting, 8" x 10"

Day 1 - It was too cold and wet to paint outside. So, I've started working from some of my Red Creek photos. It was spring, the sky was clear, and I was standing at City Bridge looking across at the brilliant yellows and spring greens. Maybe I should have titled this one - "Wishful Thinking." It's a start.
