I've surpassed my goal of 30 paintings in 30 days by 20. Tonight I complete number 50, and I can't think of a better image to paint than the dragonfly. This red dragonfly followed me down the creek - landing on my hat and shoulder a couple of times before finally landing on this rattlebox limb. In many cultures, the dragonfly symbolizes transformation, wisdom, change and light - characteristics which I can definitely relate to in this painting journey of 50 paintings in 50 days. By painting Red Creek - the landscapes and wildflowers I have had the opportunity to connect to the land, the water
and air just like a dragonfly. I feel like this journey has brought me strength,
courage, peace, and harmony which are also symbolic meanings of the dragonfly.
